Indefinite pronouns (Pronomina indefinita)

The circumflex accent ( ˆ ) is used to denote the length of the vowels.

The indefinite pronouns do not define precisely the persons, objects or qualities they are standing for. They are four patterns of forming them:

1. With the particle ali- before the interrogative pronoun:
    aliquis, aliqua, aliquid anyone, anybody; anything; someone, something; one or another
    aliqui, aliquae, aliquod any, some

2. By suffixing the particles –quam, -dam, -que, -vis, libet, -licet, -piam, -cumque to the interrogative pronoun.

3. By reduplication of the interrogative pronoun:
    quisquis, quidquid whoever, every one who, whoever it be
    quisquis, quaequae, quidquid everyone, each

4. By placing the interrogative pronoun after the unchangeable words ne not, that not, si if, whether, nisi if not, except, unless, num if, whether, now, surely not, really, then, cum when, while, as, since, although, as soon:
    si quis if someone
    si qui if some.

Declension:

Only the pronominal part is declined, while the particles remain unchanged. Note that both parts of the redupliclated indefinite pronoun are declined:

    Sg. quisquis, cujuscujius, cuicui, quemquem, quoquo;
    Pl. quiqui, quorumquorum, quibusquibus, quosquos, quibusquibus.
