Linking words
 
 
The relative pronouns, adjectives and adverbs are often used as subordinative conjunctions. In this function they are considered linking words.

As linking words are used:

Examples:
El padre miró hacia la puerta que se abrió. The father looked at the door that opened.
Él encontró algunas palabras cuyo significado no comprendó. He found some words whose meanings he did not understand.
La casa donde pasamos nuestra nñez no existe ya. The house where we were living in our childhood does not exist anymore.
Recordamos los años cuando vivimos a Paris. We remember the years when we lived in Paris.
